The factors associated with alcohol consumption behavior in Phayao province

Abstract

This study aim to associate between knowledge, attitude, social factors  and alcohol consumption behavior among people in Phayao province. Collection by questionnaire. 

The results shown that 64.80% was female. Almost of sample has age between 15- 25 year old (47.00%), Income below 5000 baht (51.00%).79.20% was currently staying in a rental house / dormitory. Father and mother are living together as a family about 72.00%. Only 17.80% of samples that have congenital disease.   From the whole sample, it was found that 74.00 % were used to drink alcoholic beverages The knowledge about alcohol consumption among Phayao province, 54.00% of samples was moderate level (11- 13 scors).

Attitude about alcohol consumption, the results shown 70.00% have moderate level. 56.50 % have the social factors at moderate level. Additional, the alcohol consumption behavior was excellent level(12.80%). The factors associated with alcohol consumption behavior that was knowledge, attitude, and social factors about alcohol consumption. The model was goodness-of-fit (p-value = 0.059)  Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that knowledge and attitude  about alcohol consumption should be increased, the impact of alcohol consumption behavior such as Potential consequences for alcoholic drinker and family, surrounding society. Rejection skills and attitude towards the negative effects of alcohol were increated.
