The Effect of Geriatric Assessment Instructional Media Innovation on Learning Achievement and Satisfaction of Nursing Students, Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Suphanburi

Abstract
This quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design aims to 1) compare the result of the Geriatric assessment instructional media innovation on the learning achievement of nursing science student pre-test scores and post-test scores. and to 2) assess the students’ satisfaction in learning lessons through geriatric assessment instructional media innovation. The samples were 101 second-year nursing students who took the Gerontological nursing course during the 2021 academic year. Research instruments are the Geriatric assessment instructional media innovation which has been tested for validity with .67-1.00. The pre-test/post-test knowledge assessment and a set of questionnaires to measure students’ satisfaction towards the instructional media innovation. The questionnaires have been tested for reliability with .81 and .78 respectively. The data has been analyzed by using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests.
The research results are: The posttest score (M = 18.26, SD = 1.85) in the learning achievement was significantly higher than the pretest score (M = 14.86, SD = .58) at the p-value of .05 (t = 21.37, p < .001), and the average score in the satisfaction in of instructional media Innovation were at a good level (M = 3.62, SD = .87). After considering each aspect, it is found that the highest score from instructional media innovation is an aspect of utility (M = 3.64, SD = .91) and the lowest score is an aspect of accuracy (M = 3.55, SD = .92).
The research toward the Geriatric assessment instructional media innovation should be promoted for higher learning achievement of nursing students.
