Abstract

Deteriorating patient in hospital is important risk. This research and development aimed to develop and study outcome of rapid response nursing system in tertiary care hospital between March to December 2024 in inpatient department, outpatient department and intensive care unit of Buddhachinaraj Phitsanulok Hospital. Process of development have four steps. First, problem analysis and planning. Second, development rapid response nursing system. Third, conduct rapid response nursing system to implementation. Forth, evaluation outcome of rapid response nursing system. Data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Mc Nemar test and paired t-test. The results found that the knowledge and practical skills of professional nurses before and after using the system were significantly different. The average knowledge score after system development was 17.38 points, higher than before system development, which was 11.62 points (p < 0.001). Patient outcomes showed a statistically significant decrease in unplanned ICU admissions after system development (p < 0.001), but unplanned CPR before and after system development did not differ. The overall satisfaction of nurse for development system was at high level. Therefore, nursing administrators should implement a rapid response nursing system to ensure patient safety
