A total of 79 hypertensive patients were interviewed. The  results showed that the mean score of knowledge of  hypertension was 12.85 ± 1.83 from 15 points. The number of high-level scores  was 77.2%. The highest frequency of  correct self-care behaviors was regularly taking medicines for hypertension (97.5%). In contrast, the highest frequency of incorrect self-care behaviors was regularly using monosodium glutamate or seasoning powder for cooking  (49.4%). Health status of most hypertensive patients were  stage 1 of hypertension (32.9%) and body mass index in the range of overweight, obesity level 1-2 (74.7%). In conclusion, the score of knowledge of hypertension in the  hypertensive patients was at high level, the incorrect self- care behaviors were food consumption and they were  obesity.
