Incidence of Cervical cancer, Loei Province 2017-2022

Cervical cancer (CC) is the leading cause of mortality women and the fourth most common cancer worldwide. There is no reporting incidence of CC in Loei province. The aim of this study is to determine incidence of CC in Loei province 2017 - 2022. Descriptive retrospective cohort study was conducted. Using data from the cancer registry, Loei Population-Based Cancer Registry, LPBCR by the Thai Cancer Based program. Of 228 patients who were diagnosed between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2022. The Crude incidence rates and Age-standardized rates, ASR were estimated, the ASR and 95% confidence interval was reported. We found that, the overall ASR from 2017 to 2022 for all ages was 10.0 per 100 000 person-years (95% CI; 9.14 to 10.82). Additionally, the ASR varied by year of diagnosis, with the highest and lowest were in 2019 (ASR = 12.6, 95%CI: 11.73 to 13.41) and in 2012 (ASR = 8.1 (95% CI: 7.27 to 8.95), respectively. In sum up, the ASR of CC in Loei province was low which compared to nearby areas and Thailand. There is maybe from cervical cancer screening among women throughout of Thailand and HPV vaccination. Future study should focus on trends in incidence of CC which is for cervical cancer control program in this area.
