This study aimed to evaluate the quantities of airborne fungi in
the Air inside classrooms and laboratories at Faculty of Public Health,
Khon Kaen University. The samples were collected from 18 rooms, 2
times in each room. There were 33 spots (totally 66 samples). All plates
were collected by SKC Biostage single-impactor following NIOSH Method
0800. The investigation was performed during June 2016-July 2016.
The results found that the average airborne fungi concentrations
in the Air inside classrooms and laboratories at Faculty of Public Health,
Khon Kaen University compared with Singapore standard were not exceed
500 CFU/m3 as the good quality air. The highest airborne fungi
concentrations in Phufoyrom room was 319.79 CFU/m3 and there were
between 100-300 CFU/m3 in 12 rooms; 1) PH2304 room was 205.83±1.24
CFU/m3, 2) Phuphancome room was 187.28 CFU/m3, 3) Phukao room was
183.31±1.87 CFU/m3, 4) PH2305 room was 167.85±2.50 CFU/m3, 5)
PH2303 room was 154.60±6.24 CFU/m3, 6) Occupational health and safety
laboratory was 152.83±1.25 CFU/m3, 7) PH2302 room was 144.88±9.99
CFU/m3, 8) PH2306 room was 144.88±5.00 CFU/m3, 9) PH2307 room was
123.68±5.00 CFU/m3, 10) PH2301 room was 113.96±1.25 CFU/m3, 11)
PH2309 room was 109.54±4.99 CFU/m3 and 12) PH2308 room was
100.71±2.50 CFU/m3, respectively. The minimum of airborne fungi
concentrations found in 5 rooms; 1) Microbiology laboratory was
87.46±1.25 CFU/m3, 2) Environmental health laboratory 2 was 84.8±2.50
CFU/m3, 3) Atomic absorption laboratory was 75.97±7.50 CFU/m3, 4)
Environmental health laboratory 1 was 75.38±1.67 CFU/m3 and the least
of airborne fungi concentrations in Air monitoring laboratory was
56.54±14.99 CFU/m3.
