Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To study the factors affecting the decision to vaccinate against COVID-19. The questionnaire consisted of questions on patient characteristics, motivation factor and attitudes that may affect the decision to vaccinate against COVID-19. Results: Age, education level, marital status, occupation and other persons living in same household did not show association with the decision to vaccinate against COVID-19. Men were 0.67 times less likely to be vaccinated than women (OR= 0.67, 95%Cl: 0.52 – 0.88). Those perceiving vaccines as safe were 6.15 times more likely to be vaccinated than those having opposite belief (OR= 6.15, 95%Cl: 2.85 – 13.27). Conclusion: Increasing more people to vaccinate against COVID-19 requires a strong emphasis on beliefs about safety of vaccine especially in men.
