Food Supplement Consumption Behavior among Undergraduate Students in Ubon Ratchathani University

Abstract
Objectives: To determine food supplement consumption behavior of undergraduate students at Ubon Ratchathani University. Methods: This cross-sectional study gathered data from students aged 18-24 being enrolled in undergraduate programs at Ubon Ratchathani University by using questionnaires. Data analysis was performed by using logistic regression to determine the factors related to dietary supplement usage behavior. Results: There were 1,890 participating students. Most participants were female (71.43%). The prevalence of dietary supplement use among students was 25.29%. The majority of participants used dietary supplements for brain (37.75%). The dietary supplement products were used based on recommendations by physicians and self-search of information. Conclusion: Approximately one-quarter of students consumed dietary supplements. The majority of subjects used dietary supplements to nourish the brain. Most of participants received information regarding dietary supplements from physician or self-search of information.
