The Concept of Practice Based Teaching in the 6 Year Doctor of Pharmacy Curriculum

Abstract
Owing to the Pharmacy Council, pharmacy curriculum has to be changed to 6 year studying. The change will have a great impact and will also elevate the standard of pharmacy practice. It is a good opportunity to reform students’ learning process to be more patient-oriented. This paper proposes the curriculum with 3 levels; preclinic (in the first, second and third years), clinic (the fourth and fifth years), and clerkship (the sixth year) . The clinical level consists of 4 modules per year. Each module lasts about 10 weeks. Students will take turn to participate in each module. This change will be a turning point of pharmacy profession development.
