Sarcopenia is an important cause of physical frailty and falls among the elderly. This quasi- experimental study aimed to explore the effects of a sarcopenia prevention program on sarcopenia preventive behaviors, physical fitness, muscle strength, and muscle mass in older adults. The sample consisted of 60 individuals aged 60 or older which recruited from the elderly who were at risk of sarcopenia in Muang District. They were allocated into an experimental group and a control group, with 30 individuals in each group. The experimental group received a 12-week sarcopenia prevention program, while the control group received health education on sarcopenia and sarcopenia prevention guidelines. Data were collected by a personal information questionnaire, a sarcopenia prevention behaviors questionnaire, a physical fitness assessment form, muscle handgrip strength, and muscle mass measurement. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test. The results revealed that the mean values for sarcopenia prevention behaviors, physical fitness, muscle strength, and muscle mass were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group (p < 0.001). Additionally, the mean values for sarcopenia prevention behaviors, physical fitness, muscle strength, and muscle mass after completing the program were significantly higher than before the experiment (p <0.001).
