Low birth weight (LBW) is an important and common health problem that consumes more resources in caring and treatment than normal children. It also affects the long-term growth and development of children. The retrospective, controlled group analysis study aimed to analyze factors associated with LBW infants. The study was conducted from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2022 among the mothers who delivered in Wangthong Hospital. Three hundred eight mother-infant pairs (77 LBW infants as cases and 231 normal birth weight infants as controls) were included in the study. Factors related with LBW were analyzed using multiple logistic regression analysis, presented as adjusted odds ratio (adj OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI). The statistical significance level was set at 0.05. Factors that were significantly related with LBW included preterm birth, maternal age ≥ 35 years, history of LBW delivery and maternal hypertension. Surveillance, education in women of reproductive age, coordinate referral information with the obstetrics department and the quality antenatal care network, development of a screening system, assessing and searching for risk factors will help prevent and reduce the incidence of LBW infants
