3D Printed Surgical Double Guides in Esthetic Crown Lengthening procedure: A Clinical Case report
3D Printing in Esthetic Crown Lengthening Procedure
Keywords:
esthetic crown lengthening, surgical double guide, 3D printingAbstract
Surgical procedures aim at increasing the height of the anterior maxillary teeth to address issues such as short teeth or excessive gingival display during smiling are performed to create a pleasing smile. Accurate diagnosis and proper treatment planning, along with communication with the patient regarding the expected treatment outcomes are essential. The digital workflow, CAD/CAM technology, aid in visualizing treatment plan and creating surgical double guides to facilitate the surgical procedure at both the gingival and osseous levels. This article reported the utilization of digital technology in treatment planning and the creation of surgical double guides for the esthetic crown lengthening surgical procedure due to altered passive eruption. It assists in effective communication with the patient in the treatment planning, reducing the overall treatment time while enhancing the precision of the surgical procedure. However, it is important to consider the limitations associated with various factors when utilizing these digital tools.
