Abstract

Sepsis induced acute kidney injury are critically ill. This mixed method research aimed to evaluate situation, factors associated to patient nursing, develop model and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing model for sepsis induced acute kidney injury patients with continuous renal replacement therapy. The study was conducted between October 2021-October 2022 in the intensive care unit. The process had four steps: first, analyzed situation and problem by in-dept interview; second, studied factors associated by cross sectional; third, developed model by focus group and forth, studied effectiveness of model by quasi experimental. Samples were registered nurses and septic patients. Thematic qualitative data were analyzed. Quantitative data were presented as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Analyze relationships with Pearson statistics. Between groups were compared by Chi-square, Fisher's exact, and paired t-tests. The results showed that 1) the patients increased and had complications. 2) factors associated with patient nursing were knowledge and skill, competency, teamwork, communication, equipment, guideline, engagement and workload. 3) Development model had six components that enlighten knowledge and skill of caring, development competency, effective teamwork, management of equipment and solution, clarify and evidence-based guideline and effective communication. 4) effectiveness of model showed that knowledge practice and competency of nurses. Patients had statistically significant reductions in mortality and complications. Thus, this model should be implemented for critically ill patients’ safety
