Abstract

Cervical cancer can infiltrate locally and directly spread to  adjacent organs. Cervical cancer metastasis to the intestine  is a rare occurrence that is easily misdiagnosed as a bowel  obstruction, perforation. This paper presents a report of  Thai woman 74-year-old, post 20 years radiation treatment cervical cancer. Patient with metastases to rectosigmoid  colon without primary cervical cancer recurrence who  presented abdominal distention and had colicky pain due  to left side colonic obstruction. The patient underwent  exploratory laparotomy, anterior resection including the  tumors were resected. The postoperative pathological  diagnosis illustrated rectosigmoid colon metastatic  adenocarcinoma. This case demonstrates that left sided  colonic metastasis must be considered in the differential  diagnosis of acute abdomen in patients with post- treatment cervical cancer.
