Treatment of Gingival Recession with Connective Tissue Graft: A Case Report
Treatment of Gingival Recession with Connective Tissue Graft
Keywords:
gingival recession, root coverage surgical technique, connective tissue graftAbstract
Gingival recession is an apical displacement of gingival margin from cementoenamel junction leading to an exposure of a root surface. Gingival recession results in an aesthetic problem and it may relate to tooth hypersensitivity. The subepithelial connective tissue graft is a technique to treat gingival recession and to achieve root coverage. The technique provides predictable outcome. However, the success of root coverage surgery depends on several factors. The aim of this study is to represent a case of connective tissue graft on tooth 31 which had loss of periodontal attachment. The result demonstrates partial root coverage on tooth 31. Patient had good periodontal health and satisfied with treatment outcome. Treatment plan, surgical technique selection and outcome discussion in this case provide the guideline for successful treatment
