Case Report: A 5-month-old girl Presented with Subglottic Hemangioma

Abstract

Subglottic hemangioma, an abnormal vessel in airway, is uncommon disease in infant. The initial symptoms  presents within 2-6 months of life. The symptoms are stridor and dyspnea which may be life threatening  airway obstruction. This present case was a five months girl with respiratory distress at the age of two  months old. Physical examination showed severe inspiratory and expiratory stridor. The investigations,  consisted of CT chest, cardiac catheterization and bronchoscope, supported the diagnosis of subglottic  hemangioma. The managements were oral prednisolone and propranolol with five days improved. Thus,  when the patient was diagnosed as subglottic hemangioma, the first line of treatment should be oral medication due to the good clinical outcome and low adverse event
