บทคัดย่อ

A good safety culture can reduce harms towards patients. The purposes of this research and development aimed to study the current states and the desirable states of patient safety culture in the operating room and analyze demand’s priority by modified priority needs index, develop strategies for promoting patient safety culture by using a SWOT analysis, try out the strategies at operating room in a tertiary hospital and evaluate the strategies for promoting patient safety culture.The results were found that the current states of patient safety culture in the operating room were at the moderate level. In desirable situations were at the highest level. The necessary demands were staffing, communicating among units shifts and safety level of the patients. The strategies contained 3S strategies model were examined and found that they were appropriated and consistent. The delivering informations between operating room and ward were more completely showed a significant difference.The number of reported incidents were increased and no harmful incidence occurred to the patients. The strategic assessments were found that the patient safety were increased and the level of the satisfaction of operating nurses were highest level. In conclusion, the development of promotion strategies for patient safety culture in operating room has good results and reduces harmful of patients in the operating room.
