Curriculum development for the village health volunteers (VHVs) to enhancing capabilities for home-based care empowerment on the elder people who have chronic diseases

This study was performed by Research and Development (R&D) design aims to
develop the Village Health Volunteers training curriculum for home care and empower of
elderly peoples who have chronic diseases. This study was divided into 3 phases. In the
first phases, assessment and the need for training were incorporate. The second phases
were Development of training courses and the third phases. Evaluation and training of
Village Health Volunteers for the home care and empowerment to the elderly people who
have a chronic diseases was done.
The findings demonstrated that the Village Health Volunteers were ability to
home care and empower the elderly people who have a chronic diseases which in the high
levels ( X =2.68) and was a full range of training needs of the empower procedures to care
for elderly people who have a chronic diseases which in the most levels. ( X =3.33).
The performance of the trained knowledge levels about home care and
empowerment to take the program was represented by knowledge and supplements the
power to care for elderly people who have a chronic diseases, which soared more than
before the statistical significant training (P-value<0.001), and have the ability to visit home
accessories power to take care of elderly people who have a chronic diseases in high level
( X =3.49).
The usefully volunteer training course for public health in the village's proximity
to the power to supplement home care for elderly people who have a chronic diseases,
which was a course that focuses on writers as a priority. Subject matter of the course
consists of 3 units-learning: 1) chronic illness in elderly people with loss of power 2)
processes and procedures to enhance the power and the home to care for the elderly, the
chronically ill. 3) full operation House reinforced the power to care for the elderly, the
chronically ill. To provide learning experiences in a course focused on training people to
participate. Using groups process to learn the actual situation and is used in conjunction
with case studies assess achievement, of course, the 2: 1) knowledge and understanding of
the full range of auxiliary operating power-house for elderly care that patients with chronic
disease. 2) full operating capability, power to supplement home care for the elderly, the
chronically ill.
This estimate should be tracking studies the behavior of self care of the elderly
people who have a chronic diseases and the participation of members of the family have
been visiting the home, the extra power compared to a family that has been a regular
programs.
