Ergonomics is the study about workers at the certain work place. The objectives
of ergonomics are protection of stresses, injuries and work-related musculoskeletal
disorders (WMSDs). There are many factors that lead to ergonomic problems such as
repetitive force during working, awkward posture, working with unsuitable hand tool, work
station and physical environment. Currently, the prevalence of Work-related Musculoskeletal
Disorders in nurses working in hospital are increased. There are many factors affecting
ergonomic problems (WMSDs) including personal, characteristic work, physical environmental
and psychological factors. The major factor that can lead to ergonomic problems among
nurses is lifting and transferring patient. Therefore, the most suitable method for protecting
ergonomic problem in nurses is ergonomics training about appropriate lifting and patient
moving method. Moreover, the design of medical equipment that related to ergonomics is
the best practice for preventing ergonomic problems resulting from hospital nurse working.
