Attitude of Nursing Students towards Health Service - a Study undertaken at the Nakhon Phanom University

Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive research was to study the attitude of nursing students’ towards
health service. One hundred ninety nine students were purposively selected and interrogated using a
questionnaires The Cronbach alpha was computed to assess the reliability of the questionnaire (0.92)
and all students participated in the survey. Data were analyzed by calculating percentages, mean and
standard deviations.The students demonstrated a good level of professional proficiency in nursing, community
aspects and interpersonal relationships (Mean = 3.95 SD = 0.31, Mean = 3.65 SD = 0.41, Mean = 4.00 SD =
0.38, Mean = 3.74 SD = 0.42). Deficiencies were observed in their social competence (Mean = 3.45 SD =
0.32). The results of this study may be taken as baseline information in an attempt to improve and develop
teaching and learning capacity of nursing students.
