Health Condition of the Residents in Moo 6, Nong Nhoon Village, Tha Mi Ram Subdistrict, Phatthalung Province, Fiscal Year of 2010

Abstract

This a cross-sectional survey research. The purpose of the study was to examine the health condition
of the residents in Moo 6, Nong Nhoon Village, ThaMiRam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phatthalung Province.
The residents who are over 35 years old and live in Moo 6, Nong Nhoon Village, Tha Mi Ram Subdistrict were
the subjects of the study. 100 residents were selected using simple random sampling. The data was analyzed
using descriptive statistics which are frequency distributions, percentage (in case of enumerable data),
average, standard deviation, minimum and maximum to describe demographics of the subjects.
The results were that in personal characteristic dimension, almost 68 percent of the subjects were
female age 35 – 79 years and they were married. 82 percent worked as femer and 68 percent finished grade 6
of their primary education. On the average, 49 percent of the subjects were 59 kilograms with 152 centimeters.
In the dimension of health status, almost 48 percent of the subjects had hypertention and their blood sugar
levels were 67 mg/dl to 149 mg/dl (86 on the average). Almost a one-third occupied body mass indices that
were considered fat and the level skin fold Hekness (tricep, bicep) . 67 percent reflected a good level of hand
grip. The levels of leg strength and back strength were mostly at a bad level, 48.3 and 56.7 percent
respectively. In the aspect of lung capacity, the subjects’ lung capacity level was at the lowest level, 42
percent. Almost half of the subjects’ cardiorespiratory endurance was at a good level and their happiness level
was equal to other normal people. For the level of their stress, it found that the low level and the normal level
of stress were alike, 44 and 43 percent respectively.
