Many genera of endophytic fungi including Aspergillus sp., Campylocarpon sp., Chaetomium sp., Coniothyrium sp., Emericella sp. , Eutypella sp., Fusarium sp., Paecilomyces sp. , Paraphaeosphaeria sp., Penicillium sp. , Phoma sp., Phomopsis sp. and Trichoderma sp. are able to synthesize alkaloids and nitrogen-containing compounds.
