Abstract

The coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) outbreak has had an impact on public health, both physical and mental health, including affecting the economy. People who receive services at Phitsanulok City Health Center (Primary Care Center) are  also one of the affected populations. The purpose of this study was to explore the mental health of patients during the new wave of COVID-19 epidemic and to assess the impact  on the mental health of patients at Phitsanulok City Health Center during the new wave of COVID-19 epidemic. This survey research recruited data between 1-30 June 2021 using the MENTAL HEALTH CHECK IN questionnaire of the Department of Mental Health. Ministry of Health. Study performed at  Phitsanulok City Health Center. For those who were detained at home, the research team had sent a QR code by sending the ID number back to the research team after assessing the questionnaire. Data was presented by number, percentage,  mean and standard deviation. The association between personal data and various mental health conditions were compared with chi-square statistics. The level of significance was 0.05. It was found that the service recipients had 291 mental  health conditions at high level (72.8 %) and 109 people at moderate level (27.2 %). Age was statistically related to mental health status (p = 0.012). By age range 51-59, there were 93 (93.0%) of high stress and 99 (99%) moderately depressed. Age was statistically associated with different levels of stress and depression (p = 0.003, 0.001 respectively). Therefore, age is related to mental health conditions
