6-Minute Walk (6MWT) Pulmonary Fitness Assessment Experienced Among People Infected with COVID-19 at Ascreening and Caring for Early Patients Unit

Abstract

          Situation for those who are likely to be infected with COVID-19 The Department of Disease Control has opened an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to ask everyone to have a chance to be infected with Covid-19 and began screening for infected people in the channel entrances and exits in Thailand and set up a separation unit and ask patients to accept them in order to take further action to resolve the situation economically. When a patient is detected from a Covid-19 infection test kit (ATK positive). The results required initial assessment of vital signs along with 6-minute walking (6MWT) pulmonary function assessment which was a preliminary pulmonary function assessment method by comparing the oxygen levels of the fingertips before and after the test. These was to assess and screen patients with symptoms of severe pneumonia requiring urgent treatment in the respiratory intensive care unit. It can assist  patients who can provide regular care at community hospitals or field hospital.


          Based on the experienced of assessing lung function by 6-minute walk (6MWT) among patients with COVID-19 at the Isolation and Care Unit of primary care patients. It was found that during the test there were some limitations which the assessor must understand and apply the 6-minute walking pulmonary function assessment guideline on a case-by-case basis in order to prevent erroneous assessment results and reducing factors that may affect the effectiveness of a patient's pulmonary function test. By strictly adhering to the guidelines for infection prevention and pulmonary function assessment. This article provided the experienced on using  a 6-minute requirement for Covid-19, explaining case studies, obstacles, causes of the problem. and gained from the desired experience and follow the advice on pulmonary fitness, then walk 6 minutes (6MWT) from the practice for others, plan to prevent further COVID-19 patients from getting picked up.
