Nursing care of the pneumonia patient having an Sepsis and acute respiratory failure

Abstract

Sepsis is the inflammation throughout the body resulting from lung infection. It can lead to high mortality rates from acute respiratory failure. In case study of Thai women patient, 75 year old, with fever and wheezing before coming to the hospital for 1 day was admitted on 25 May 2019. The patient had a lot of dyspnea and oxygen levels in the body of 90%. The patient was received endotracheal tube and nursing care. The complications of shock, occurrence of circulatory disorders and renal failure was protected by peripheral venous cannulation, 5 % D/N/2 1000 ml iv drip 100ml/hr, and administrated the levophed drug and Tazocin 4.5 gm iv drip drug every 6 hours for reducing the infection and fixing the imbalance condition of mineral salt. After nursing care for 2 days, the endotracheal tube was removed. The patient was received liquid diet and pulmonary rehabilitation and trained for effective postural drainage. Patient is safety without Sepsis and then she was discharged on 31 May 2019, totally for admission in the hospital for 6 days.

Nursing care of patient having a Sepsis is a challenge of nurse to improve the knowledge and advance practical nursing skills in management of shock from infection. The main purpose is to provide nursing care the patient with quickly safety from chock, recover the blood circulatory system to normal, reduce the violence from disability and help the patient from the critical conditions.
