The relationship between working environment and efficiency of personnel in King Narai hospital

Abstract

The purpose of this survey research was study the relationship between working environment and efficiency of personnel in King Narai hospital. The samples consisted of 313 participants who were personnel. The data were collected by questionnaires of characteristics, working environment, work efficiency and suggestion. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at a significant level of 0.05.

The research showed    the opinion of personnel in King Narai hospital on the overall working environment was at high level (= 3.84), and this opinion were ranked in descending order as mental (= 3.99), physical (= 3.84), and working time (= 3.68). In addition, the overall work efficiency was at high level (= 3.71), and these aspects were ranked in descending order as perception in job description (= 3.97), job satisfaction (= 3.71), and the need of progress (= 3.47). Moreover, it revealed that the working environment of personnel in King Narai hospital comprising mental were significantly related to the work efficiency in the aspects of perception in job description, job satisfaction, and the total work efficiency (p<.001). These were related to each other ranging from intermediate high levels (r = .663, .662 and .640) and the same direction. The working environment comprising physical were significantly related to the work efficiency in the aspects of of perception in job description, job satisfaction, and the need of progress (p<.001). These were related to each other ranging from medium levels (r = .447, .409, .443 and .531) and the same direction.

In conclusion, the working environment was significantly related to the work efficiency (p<.001). The first, it should be focus on promoting the environment in mental. Their work attitudes will more than likely result in a more work efficiency and continues to achieve sustainability.
