Nursing care of Burns and scalds patient with Pneumonia: Case study

The injury from burns and scalds were found in any gender and age. The primary cause of this injury resulted from the burns and scalds by fire, hot liquid, high voltage electricity and chemicals. The burns and scalds of childhood and old age often occurred from an accident in the home. The burns and scalds of adult (20-41 year olds) almost occurred from an accident at work.
In the case study, female patient, 52 year olds, was admitted to hospital on 25 February 2020. Before hospital admission for 6 hours, the patient received the accident from explosive gas resulted in the burns at the face, neck and both arms. Moreover, the patient inhaled the smoke. The patient was received intubation. After that, the Pneumonia in patients was occurring. In crisis, the patient was receiving the respiratory nursing and the fluid during the first 24 hours of protection the oxygen depletion from respiratory obstruction and loss of fluid from burning, respectively. In addition, the patient was receiving antibiotics drug, the pulmonary Infection nursing, burns nursing with wound dressing and morphine for reducing the pain. After 6 days, the endotracheal tube was taken off. The patient was receiving physical and mental rehabilitation by physiotherapy, promoting wound healing, building confidence by patient. The patient was safe and had not the infection and then he was discharged on 11 March 2020 (total of hospital admission for 15 days).
The role of burns and scalds nursing care must have the knowledge and understanding of the problems and needs of patients at each stage for providing comprehensive care. The importance of nursing care is the controlling and preventing the infection, promoting wound healing, would care, reducing the pain, physical and mental rehabilitation for faster would healing, no defection, no organs deforming resulted that the patient has a good quality of life and to be returned happiness life with family and society.
