Manuscript Preparation

1. Type the manuscript using Microsoft Word 2010 or later, single-sided, one column per page, on A4 paper. Set margins: top and left 2 cm; bottom and right 1.5 cm. Insert page numbers sequentially at the bottom center. Use TH Sarabun PSK font, size 14; main headings in bold. Submit the article as Word and PDF files (according to the journal template). Submit via the online journal website: https://he01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/shj/ and provide complete contact details: full name, telephone number, email, and mailing address.

2. The writing format for each section follows these guidelines:

Includes:

Title: Should be concise and reflect the main objective of the article; written in both Thai and English.

Authors: Full name (first and last) in both Thai and English; abbreviated academic degree(s); affiliation/workplace; corresponding author/principal investigator; contact email.

Abstract: A summary following the article structure in 3 paragraphs: Paragraph 1: Introduction/Objectives/Methods Paragraph 2: Results Paragraph 3: Conclusion Must be no more than 250 words, written in both Thai and English.

Keywords: At least 3–5 keywords, arranged alphabetically (Thai keywords ordered according to the English alphabet).

References: Vancouver style.

In-text citations

Provide consecutively numbered citations after the relevant text or after the name of the person whose statement is cited, in order of appearance, using Arabic numerals with no spaces, in superscript, without parentheses. Journal titles in references should use the abbreviations of the U.S. National Library of Medicine as published annually in Index Medicus, or from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/tsd/serials/liji.html.

When citing the same reference again, use the same number, which must match the corresponding number in the reference list.

For citations of more than one reference in a consecutive range, use a hyphen (-) connecting the first and last numbers, e.g., 1-4. For nonconsecutive references, use commas (,) with no spaces, e.g., 4,6,10.

Example

From early studies during the initial global outbreak in 2020, patients in groups 1 and 2 showed abnormalities on the first chest radiograph in approximately 14.7–62%9-10; these were patients who had not yet been vaccinated. As time passed and more of the population was vaccinated, pneumonia findings on the first chest radiograph decreased to 2–8.3%11-12. Regarding follow-up chest radiography (the second film) in patients with severity levels 1 and 2 per NIH, whose first chest radiograph was normal, new-onset pneumonia was found in 13.7%10. Consider obtaining chest radiography and/or individual follow-up depending on each person’s pre-existing risk factors, or symptoms, clinical signs, and vital signs at presentation, or changes therein, at the treating physician’s discretion4,6-8.

End-of-chapter/book references

References at the end of the chapter/book (the “reference list”) follow these principles:

List references in the order cited, according to the assigned numbers referenced in the text, without separating by language or type of source.

Reference formats differ by document type as follows:

Academic journal Number. Author(s). Article title. Journal title Year; volume: first page–last page.

For Thai journals, authors’ names should be written in full (first and last name), journal title in full, and the publication year in the Buddhist Era. For English journals, list surname first followed by initials (one letter for first and middle names, if any). If there are more than 6 authors, list only the first 3 or first 6 (depending on each journal’s guidance) followed by et al. (English) or และคณะ (Thai). Journal titles should use Index Medicus abbreviations or the format used by that journal. For the last page number, include only the final digits, as in the examples below.

After the editor receives the manuscript, the author will be notified whether the article is “revise before publication consideration,” “publish without revision,” or “not accepted for publication,” according to the journal production process. Priority will be given to earlier submissions that are accepted for publication; articles will be sequenced until reaching 15 articles per issue. From the 16th article onward, manuscripts will automatically enter the publication process for the next issue. For accepted articles, the journal office will provide the author with 1 printed copy of the journal and publish the article via the online journal system. Publication fees are as follows:

Publication Fee (charged for every submission)

• External authors (non–Singburi Hospital personnel): 3,000 THB per person

• Internal authors (Singburi Hospital personnel): 2,500 THB per person

Payment shall be made via Krung Thai Bank, Singburi Branch

Account Name: Singburi Hospital Welfare Fund

(The Journal will notify the bank account number when your manuscript reaches the payment stage. The notification will be sent through the journal system.)

Notes:

• Authors must pay the publication fee before the Journal forwards the manuscript for peer review.

• In cases where the author has paid the submission/publication fee but the manuscript is rejected for publication by the reviewers/editorial board, or the author withdraws the manuscript, the fee cannot be refunded. This is because the fee is used to cover the costs of the peer-review and editorial process.

• Payment of the publication fee does not guarantee publication. A manuscript will be accepted for publication only after approval by the reviewers and/or the editorial board.

• An official receipt will be issued by the Journal and sent to the address provided during the payment process.

Manuscript Revision for Publication

Authors must revise the manuscript and respond to all comments and queries raised by the reviewers and the editorial board in full. Revisions should be clearly indicated or highlighted, specifying which issues have been addressed, and explanations must be provided for any comments that were not revised. The revised manuscript must be resubmitted within 2 weeks.
