Factors Associated with Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders among Wood Furniture Informal Workers in Sukhothai Province

Abstract
This research was a cross-sectional study to examine ergonomic problems with musculoskeletal disorders among wood furniture informal workers in Sukhothai province by random sampling of 242 people, collected data by using a questionnaire, which consisted of general information questionnaire and Nordic standard questionnaire to analyze musculoskeletal disorders and use the Rapid Upper Limp Assessment (RULA). Analyzed the data of individual factors, job characteristics, and prevalence using chai-square statistics, for factors related to the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders, using multiple logistic regression statistics. The results showed that the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in the past 12 months and 7 days was 97.9% and 69.8%, respectively. The results of multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the factor related to the musculoskeletal disorders was the number of working days/weeks. (p<0.05) The results of this study suggests that government should provide training and counselling on the correct working posture with the informal workers of wood furniture professional to help reduce the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders and creating a good working environment.
