The Development of Health Services Model for Non-Certified YFHS Hospitals

Abstract

This mixed method aimed: 1) to study the situation; 2) to compare the problem and need assessment; 3) to evaluate the result and satisfaction; and 4) to lesson learned to explore the motivational factor in succeed and barriers on operation of YFHS. The sample was ninety non certified hospitals. There were three phases. Phase 1, preparing for understanding beginning with qualitative research by in-depth interview using nine key informants; such as teenagers and youths, executives, and health personnel, followed by quantitative research by questionnaire using 288 participants, which selected two or three people by quota stratified random sampling from every hospital. Phase 2, action operation in high need assessment hospital, three five-district hospitals were selected by purposive sampling. Phase 3, the YFHS certificated evaluation analyzing with qualitative data, descriptive statistics and priority needs index (PNI)


The results revealed that; 1) the situations were main services; such as counseling; enabling factors for services; such as executives’ policy; and barriers; such as undetermined clarify working group; 2) the problem and need assessment found that the administration and accessing to target group and the need in service had the highest (PNI=0.26), guided to plan the operation and create the understanding in teenagers’ caring network, and coaching team gave advices the developing standard of YFHS; 3) the overall satisfaction of client toward service was high level (=3.83 SD=0.45) and the satisfaction of personnel was high level (=4.11 SD=0.44 ); and 4) lesson learned found that succeed factor in service was explicit policy and barrier factor in service was lack of information in developing service system
