Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) represent a critical public health challenge in Thailand, with intensive behavior modification based on Lifestyle Medicine serving as a key strategy for sustainable disease management. This Retrospective Analytic Study, one-group Before-and-after analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Lifestyle Medicine services within the Department of Health’s pilot regional health centers regarding health behaviors and clinical outcomes, including BMI, body fat percentage, FBS, HbA1c, lipid profile, and uric acid. Secondary data from 106 patients in the lifestyle medicine service pilot project between 2023–2025 were analyzed from four sites: Regional Health Promotion Centers 1 (Chiang Mai), 3 (Nakhon Sawan), 7 (Khon Kaen), and the Metropolitan Health and Wellness Institution. Research tools included the Lifestyle Medicine service model and the Department of Health’s Lifestyle Medicine behavior assessment form, with data analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests.
The results demonstrated that participants achieved a statistically significant increase in health behavior scores (p<0.001). However, BMI and body fat percentage showed no significant changes. Conversely, FBS, HbA1c, and total cholesterol significantly increased (p=0.003, p<0.001 and p=0.035, respectively). Site-specific analysis revealed variations; Regional Health Promotion Center 7 achieved significant reductions in BMI and body fat (p<0.001), whereas the Metropolitan Health and Wellness Institution exhibited significantly higher increases in clinical markers compared to other sites.
In conclusion, while Lifestyle Medicine services successfully improved health behaviors, clinical outcomes varied significantly by regional context. This study recommends enhancing and elevating national Lifestyle Medicine service standards and pursuing further research in the field of Lifestyle Medicine.
