Currently, cesarean section is increasing worldwide, including Thailand, which is higher than the rate of cesarean section set by the World Health Organization. The purpose of this research was to compare the knowledge and practice of self-care in the postoperative period of pregnant women undergoing cesarean section for the first time. In Regional Health Promotion Center 5 Ratchaburi. This research is The quasi-experimental study. The samples were the pregnant woman coming for first cesarean section, divided into 2 groups: experimental and control groups contained 45 subjects. The data were collected using 2-part questionnaires 1) the program Knowledge Teaching on Postoperative self-care Pregnant woman coming for first cesarean section. In the Regional Health Promotion Center 5 Ratchaburi. 2) Questionnaire for the program Knowledge Teaching on Postoperative self-care Pregnant woman coming for first cesarean section. In the Regional Health Promotion Center 5 Ratchaburi. The reliability of questionnaires approached by Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient were 1.04 and 0.99, respectively, and knowledge approached by KR. 20 was 0.50.
The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and t-test. as follows:1) After participating in the program, the experimental group had a significantly higher average knowledge score than the control group. Statistical significance (p<0.00) 2) After participating in the program, the experimental group's ability to take care of themselves during the postoperative period was significantly higher than that of the control group. Statistical significance (p<0.00)
Therefore, the program using It can help to help this group of pregnant women be ready to take care of themselves after surgery. To reduce complications after surgery, behave correctly can be discharged from the hospital
