Development of Clinical Nursing Practice Guidelines for The Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke of Rong Kwang Hospital Phrae Province.

This developmental study aimed to develop the clinical nursing practice guidelines for the patients with acute ischemic stroke of Rong Kwang Hospital in Phrae Province. Soukup’s evidence-base nursing practice was adopted as the study framework in the practice guidelines. The sample consisted of 1) 8 professional nurses who worked at the emergency department. 2) 10 patients with acute ischemic stroke who have symptoms within 2.30 hours and receive treatment in the emergency department. The instruments used in the study were questionnaires of nurses. Nursing Practice Guidelines and Nursing Record Form for Stroke Patients. Its contents validity had been approved by 3 experts and the Index of Item-Objective Congruence were 0.6 – 1.0 as well as the Cornbrash’s Alpha Coefficient were 0.945. The data were used descriptive statistical analysis.
The results of this study indicated that 1) There are nursing practice guidelines for acute ischemic stroke patients. Rong Kwang Hospital. The quality of the guideline is 84.73% practical, through the evaluation of the guideline using AGREE. 2) all 8 participated nurses agreed that it was plausible to implement these CNPGs. Most nurses satisfied at highest level (75%). 3) The average time of patient transferring was declined from 40 minutes to 29 minutes. It is recommended that nurse should be trained on health assessment of the neurological, especially signs of acute ischemic stroke. Further study should evaluate the effectiveness of the clinical nursing practice guidelines.
