Transformative Learning: Teaching by Experts by Experience for Development of Critical thinking and Problem Solving Skills

In the 21st century, nursing education for baccalaureate nursing students have to encompass essential and productive skills into the nursing courses to generate their assessment abilities. This paper aimed to study transformative learning by using experts’ experiences to develop nursing’s student’s competency, including critical thinking and problem solving skills. As noted by Transformative Learning Theory, the study focused on expert by experiences to promote learning experiences of nursing students. To contribute expert by experiences technique into the nursing course, patients with physical and mental deficiency became as an expert member of the team.
The results highlighted that using experts by experiences techniques delivered a new paradigm, and interestingly promote individual learners, transform critical thinking, alter attitude to emerge their own ways to gain knowledge. In addition, applying this strategy leaner acknowledged their recent skills to create their further nursing roles. These indicated that experts by experiences should apply to all clinical practices fields in order to develop nursing skills, knowledge, critical thinking, and problem solving in nursing students, as well as enhance core nursing skills and life-long learning.
