WOUND HEALING OF MODERN DRESSING IN PRESSURE INJURY PATIENTS

Abstract
BACKGROUND
Mostly, the complication; which is developed after cerebrovascular disease or accident that make bedbound condition; could decrease one’s life quality. Once pressure injury was developed, wound dressing is the one of wound care managements that could make patients pain and took more time for healing. Nowadays, there is an equipment for new dressing type was getting more used. Nevertheless, the restricted resources; either of health care providers or economics; could make Modern dressing still questioned about the efficacy and possibility to use in rural area.
OBJECTIVES
For study about their efficacy of wound healing and process of wound dressing by modern dressing and to acknowledge the satisfaction of patient and his caregiver.
METHODS
This is observational research, which the volunteer is pressure injury grade 3-4 patient in secondary health care system in Chiang Rai. 5 of community hospitals were included, and , total of 8 volunteers willing to research entry; which they will dressed wound with modern dressing by specific nurse who passed the guide for modern dressing and whole person evaluation in the first place; which familiar to routine check-up in pre-research, researching and post-research. Then we will follow-up the wound dressing for total 90 days, and data summarized in first 60 days of wound dressing
RESULTS
There are 6 from 8 volunteers who still getting wound dressing with us until finished first 60 days and still keep on dressing.; They all have wound progressing in the better ways and no further inflamed or infected from their ulcer. But there are 2 volunteers that have to stop getting data, because of one was passed away from her underlying lung condition and another refused to get dressing with modern dressing from concerning about the process of wound dressing.
CONCLUSION AND DISCUSSION
Modern dressing can give advantages for volunteers and their caregivers, either healing ability even in unfavorable for wound recovery or lesser dressing frequency and make them satisfy for improved their life’s quality. Moreover, this research could be the evidence to developing the wound management system for caring and communicated with associations in Chiang Rai
