EFFECTIVE OF PRETERM LABOUR CARE PROCESS IN MAECHAN HOSPITAL

BACKGROUND

 In Maechan hospital, the number of cases involving preterm labour is increasing. In 2015, there was 3.67 percent of preterm labor. Afterwards, the researcher found that the treatments were done in various ways and lacked comprehensive or specialized care. According to the high rate of doctors circulating, the system was set in new ways to develop treatments in 2016, so there was new data to be analyzed in the results of the research.

OBJECTIVE

To study the prevalence of the risk factors for preterm births, establish new SOP, promote proper and comprehensive attention in processing pregnant women services with the new SOP and clinical outcomes

METHODS

A correlational study was done to compare premature labor pregnant data in Maechan hospital from treatment records of 2015 and 2016, collect general data, determine factors causing premature labor and analyze pregnant women services and clinical outcomes for accuracy, and analyze statistics descriptive by t-test and exact probability test

RESULTS

In 2015 and 2016, there were 736 and 700 births respectively. There was a 15.76 percent reported premature births in 2015 followed by 14.57 in 2016. The three factors that caused the condition were late Antenatal Care, First Pregnancy, and Vaginitis or urinary infection. The respective rates of occurrence of these conditions were 58.6%, 43.1% and 36.2% in 2015 and 51.0%, 44.1% and 35.3% in 2016.

Preterm labor care processes increase accuracy/extensive rates of discharge plan processes in the Antenatal Care department (P=0.001) and increased accuracy/ extensive rates of the screening process (P=0.001), diagnoses process (P=0.049), discharge plan process (P=0.049) at Delivery department. Even accuracy and extensive pregnant women services still can’t decrease the premature labor rate.

CONCLUSION AND DISCUSSTION

Increase the public awareness for pregnant women to take advantage of screening services, have accuracy treatments, and to address possible treatments needed for vaginal or urethral infection
