THE MODEL OF NETWORK MANAGEMENT IN PRODUCING DOCTORS AT FACULTY OF MEDICINE, NARESUAN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Background: The importance of instruction for producing doctors has pushed to Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University to cooperation on formal network pattern from many stakeholders and building hospital network in neighboring provinces to expand training hospital for clinical year medical students. So, Faculty of Medicine has the most training hospital in Thailand. The presented model of network management in producing doctors, so it’s helpful to define the core competency of the organization and fulfill the knowledge in education administration.

ObjectiveS: To study the network management in producing doctors. As well as study supporting and hinder factors to affecting network management and presented the model of network management in producing doctors at Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University. 

method: The study was qualitative research using documentary study, participant observations, focus group and in-depth interview from 5 key informants, who were selected by using snowball sampling. The instrumentation was semi–structured interview and focus group.

Results: Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University was divided the network management into 4 aspects as follows: (1.) Strategy (2.) Instruction (3.) Human resource development and (4.) Ensuring accountability. The supporting factors to affecting network management were divided into 3 factors as follows: (1.) Leader (2.) Knowledge management and (3.) The supporting participation, while the hinder factors to affecting network management were divided into 2 factors as follows: (1.) Evaluation of network performance and (2.) Bureaucracy structure. The model of network management in producing doctors can create two types:  Leadership-base network model and Inter-organizational network model.

ConclusionS and disscustions: Under a particular operation, the model of network management in producing doctors can reflect the comprehensive and formal network. Also can used for support network organization development.
