Abstract

The purpose of  this quasi-experimental research was to study the effect of  Partner Brushing Program on dental plaque reduction among grade five students, Mueang Nan District, Nan Province. This study compares the plaque index between the experimental group and the control group after the program. The inclusion critiria is 5th grade students, studied in Jumpeewanidaporn School. The participants were divided in 2 groups, the room 5/1(26person), was designed as an experimental group and those in the room 5/2(27person), students in was designated as a control group. Partner Brushing Program is conducted in the experimental group. The dental plaque was examined in both the experimental group and the control group at the beginning and after the experiment. This study was conducted is from July to August 2018. Data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon Sign-Rank test and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that after the experiment, the experimental group decreased their plaque index after the experiment at 0.05 level of statistical significance and when compared to the control group after the experiment, it was found that the plaque index of the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group. (p <.05)
