การฟื้นฟูสภาพช่องปากในผู้ป่วยที่ฟันสึกรุนแรง

ฟันหลังมีหน้าที่ในการบดเคี้ยวและช่วยคงมิติแนวดิ่งไว้ เมื่อสูญเสียฟันหลังย่อมส่งผลให้เกิดการสูญเสีย
มิติแนวดิ่ง ซึ่งในระยะเวลาต่อมาจะนำไปสู่การสึกอย่างรุนแรงของฟันหน้า บทความนี้เป็นรายงานการรักษา
ผู้ป่วยชายอายุ 72 ปีที่สูญเสียฟันหลังทำให้สูญเสียมิติแนวดิ่งและตามมาด้วยการมีฟันสึกอย่างรุนแรง การรักษา
จึงเป็นการฟื้นฟูสภาพช่องปากโดยมี 2 ขั้นตอนหลักๆ เริ่มต้นจากต้องเพิ่มมิติแนวดิ่งให้กลับมาอยู่ในระยะที่
เหมาะสมโดยใช้ฟันเทียมบางส่วนถอดได้ฐานอะคริลิกชนิดขยายฐานในขากรรไกรบนและล่างจนได้มิติแนวดิ่ง
ที่เหมาะสมแล้วจึงอุดฟัน ครอบฟันในฟันที่สึกอย่างรุนแรง ใส่เดือยฟันและครอบฟันในฟันที่รักษารากฟันและ
ใช้เป็นฟันหลักในการใส่ฟันเทียม สุดท้ายจึงใส่ฟันเทียมบางส่วนถอดได้ฐานโลหะชนิดขยายฐานในขากรรไกรบน
และล่าง ซึ่งเมื่อติดตามผลการรักษาพบว่าประสิทธิภาพในการบดเคี้ยวของผู้ป่วยและความสวยงามของใบหน้าผู้ป่วย
ดีขึ้นมาก
