A Model for Developing Community Health Management Competencies of Nursing Students Under the Praborommarajchanok Institute

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop a model for developing community health management competencies of nursing students under  Praboromarajchanok  institute. The research was divided into 3 steps :  1) To study the competency in community  health management of nursing students 2) Develop a model of development of community health management competency of nursing students  3) To study the effect of using a model of development of community health management competency.  The study sample consisted of 72 bachelor's degree nursing students who were selectively selected. the research tools are Community Health Management Competencies Questionnaire of Nursing Students An in-depth interview form on the issue of community health management competency development guidelines The learning outcomes assessment form for the Community Health Nursing Practice Course 2, the content validity index .85 and the Cronbach alpha coefficient .97. The data were analyzed. by content analysis frequency distribution and t test


            The results of the research revealed that


            1) The competencies that should be used to develop students were: community strengths and weaknesses assessment, network administration, application of empirical evidence, motivation and inspiration, performance evaluation skills


            2) The community health management competency development model, was AOIIMEEFKM


            3) The results of assessment of community health management competency of nursing students after using the model were higher than before using the model. statistically significant (p<0.05).
