Resilience and Adaptation of Nursing Students in the COVID-19 Pandemic Boromarajonani College of Nursing Uttaradit

Abstract
This survey correlational research aimed to 1) examine the level of resilience and adaptation of nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic Boromarajonani College of Nursing Uttaradit 2) investigate the relationship between resilience and adaptation of nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic Boromarajonani College of Nursing Uttaradit 3) compare the mean of resilience and adaptation of nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic Boromarajonani College of Nursing Uttaradit. Sample selected by purposive sampling, who voluntarily participated in, were 418 (89.89 percent) of 465 nursing students’ year 1 to 4 from Boromarajonani College of Nursing Uttaradit during in the first semester of the academic year 2021. The research instruments were the Resilience Questionnaire and the adaptation of Nursing Students in the COVID-19 Pandemic Questionnaire which reliabilities were .86 and .89, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one way ANOVA.
The results indicated that the resilience level of the majority of nursing students (83.90 percent) was at moderate level. The adaptation in the COVID-19 pandemic of the majority of nursing students (74.20 percent) was at good level. A positive correlation was found statistically significance at the .01 level between resilience level and adaptation in the COVID-19 pandemic level and the mean scores of resilience and adaptation in the COVID-19 pandemic of nursing students’ year 1, 2, 3 and 4 nursing students were statistically significant difference at the .01 level.
Therefore, concerned parties should promote the development of resilience particularly to the nursing students who are in the practicum so that they can adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic.
