Effects of Community-based Learning Integration of Health Promotion for the Elderly with Thai Local Wisdom in the Health Problem 1 Course on Nursing on Students of Boromarajanani College of Nursing, Uttaradit

Abstract

          The objective of this research was to examine the consequences of the integrated instructional management by learning from elderly people in communities with Thai local wisdom. The sample was 102 of the second-year nursing students in the academic year of 2017. The instruments used in this study included 1) the lesson plans for the integrated instructional management by learning from elderly people in communities with Thai local wisdom, 2) the learning achievement test 3) the learning behaviors  questionnaire and 4) the students’ attitude survey. The statistical analyses conducted in this study were mean, percentage, standard deviation, and paired t-test. The results from this study indicated that; 1)The learning achievement scores of the second-year nursing students after participating in the community-based learning integration of health promotion for the elderly with Thai local wisdom was statistically significantly higher than that before participating in the learning integration at the 0.01 level. 2) The nursing students showed the strongly agree attitudes towards the community-based learning integration of health promotion for the elderly with Thai local wisdom in the Nursing Care of Persons with Health Problems I course. 3)The learning behaviors scores after being taught by using the community-based learning integration of health promotion for the elderly with Thai local wisdom in the Nursing Care of Persons with Health Problems I course were at a high level ( X= 4.23, SD = .59)
