ประสบการณ์ของผู้ดูแลหลักในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุติดเตียงที่บ้าน

บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษานี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแบบปรากฏการณ์วิทยา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบายประสบการณ์ของผู้ดูแลหลักในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุนอนติดเตียงที่บ้าน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลจำนวน 12 ราย ได้รับการคัดเลือกแบบเฉพาะเจาะจงตามคุณสมบัติที่กำหนด ผู้วิจัยสัมภาษณ์ผู้ให้ข้อมูลตามแนวทางการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง ข้อมูลที่ถอดเทปจากการบันทึกเสียงนำมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลตามวิธีการของจอร์จี
ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ประสบการณ์ของผู้ดูแลหลักระหว่างให้การดูแลผู้สูงอายุนอนติดเตียงที่บ้าน ประกอบด้วย 1) ภารกิจในการดูแล 2) ความรู้สึกของการดูแล 3) ปัญหาสุขภาพ 4) แหล่งสนับสนุนการดูแล และ 5) ความต้องการการดูแล ผู้ดูแลหลักปฏิบัติภารกิจที่หลากหลายเพื่อให้การช่วยเหลือผู้สูงอายุเกี่ยวกับการปฏิบัติกิจวัตรประจำวัน และการจัดการปัญหาสุขภาพผู้สูงอายุที่นอนติดเตียง ผู้ดูแลหลักรู้สึกดีใจที่ได้ให้การดูแลและตอบแทนบุญคุณผู้สูงอายุ ผู้ดูแลหลักต้องอดทนต่อการดูแลผู้สูงอายุถึงแม้ว่าจะเหนื่อยและท้อ ระหว่างให้การดูแลผู้สูงอายุ พบว่า ผู้ดูแลหลักรับรู้ว่าตนเองมีปัญหาทั้งทางด้านสุขภาพกายและจิตใจ ได้แก่ ปวดหลัง นอนไม่เพียงพอ และวิตกกังวลเกี่ยวกับอาการผู้สูงอายุ เป็นต้น แต่อย่างไรก็ตามผู้ดูแลหลักยังได้รับการสนับสนุนความรู้และความสามารถในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุจากพยาบาลวิชาชีพ อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุข ญาติพี่น้อง รวมทั้งการค้นหาข้อมูลผ่านระบบอินเทอร์เน็ต นอกจากนี้ผู้ดูแลหลักยังมีความต้องการได้รับการช่วยเหลือจากบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ในการเยี่ยมบ้าน ต้องการให้ญาติพี่น้องและหน่วยงานต่าง ๆ สนับสนุนค่าใช้จ่ายในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุ และต้องการกำลังใจจากญาติพี่น้อง
จากผลการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้สามารถเป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานเพื่อพัฒนางานวิจัยเชิงปริมาณหรือวิจัยแบบผสมผสานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้ดูแลของผู้สูงอายุที่นอนติดเตียง ตัวอย่างเช่น โปรแกรมพัฒนาสมรรถนะผู้ดูแลในการจัดการปัญหาสุขภาพของผู้สูงอายุติดเตียงที่บ้านในสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน รูปแบบการจัดการปัญหาสุขภาพสำหรับผู้ดูแลของผู้สูงอายุติดเตียง และแนวทางการพัฒนาเครือข่ายเพื่อให้การดูแลผู้สูงอายุและครอบครัวโดยใช้เทคโนโลยีและการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน
