Abstract

This article aimed to describe teaching styles that promote 21st century skills in nursing education, based on the philosophy of Experimentalism. The concept of Experimentalism has been used widely in nursing education, in order to help the students reach the intended learning outcomes of the course as well as skills and learning in the 21st century. It is a student-centered teaching method that is based on practice. The knowledge is gained from experience, where the students are responsible for their own learning. The role of teachers is as facilitators, and resource persons for learners. Instructors need to reduce the role of teaching and lecture. They should increase the processes and activities to keep the students motivated to do activities with various methods.
