Social Welfare Services for Elderly in Siprachan District Municipality, Suphanburi Province

Abstract

Purposes of the study of Social Welfare Services for Elderly in Sriprachan District
Municipality, Suphanburi Province are distributing welfare for elders and determining the
development of social welfare services for elderly in Sriprachan district. Research methods,
including both quantitative and qualitative approaches are applied to the study. Two
hundred and ninety-four elders are sampling of the district. Questionnaires are applied to
collect data. Then, researcher analyzes all data with statistical software program and
content analysis.
The result found that Office of the Sriprachan District has a standard of performance
according to the policy of the Department of Local Administration as the following: 1)
Health and Medical Care: providing healthy knowledge and annual treatment. 2)
Recreation: providing several activities especially on significant days. 3) Social Security for
family, attendant, and protection: providing religious activity and tradition funeral welfare.
4) Income: distributing subsistence allowances according to the law. 5) Residence: providing
or coordinating related units of clothing and housing for elders who cannot help
themselves well. The last but not least is a Service and a Network Supporting: distributing
community moving. According to the standard of elderly welfare, there might be some
limited, involving budget that integration with related units such as hospital, health station,
and office of social department and human security for working on further procedure of
standard.
