Learning Management on Sex Education By Using Love Model for Comprehensive Humanization Based Upon Contemplative Education

Abstract

This research was designed to determine the effects and satisfactions of students pertaining to
learning management on Sex Education by using LOVE Model for comprehensive humanization based
upon contemplative education. The samples were 80 students who enrolled in the Sex Education course at
the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University in the 2011 academic year. The students were divided
into 2 groups, the experimental group with 40 students and the comparison group with 40 students as well.
The research instruments were sex education learning management plans; comprehensive humanization in
the areas of goodness, truth and knowledge; assessment form learning activities based upon LOVE Model
satisfaction questionnaire. Data analysis was accomplished by using means, standard deviation, t-test and
One Way MANOVA including content analysis. After the study, mean scores of the experimental group were
statistically significantly higher than before the experiment and also higher than that when compare with the
comparison group at the .05 level in the areas of goodness, truth, and knowledge (knowledge in the
contents, attitudes and practice concerning sex behaviors). Moreover, students who studied Sex Education
by using LOVE Model based on contemplative education principle showed their satisfactions concerning
goodness, truth and knowledge through activities at the highest level. The researcher recommended that
the application of Love Model Learning Management for Comprehensive Humanization in every subjects
and class levels would stimulate the student in knowing oneself as the way of deserving “Morality Ahead
Knowledge” on the students exactly.
