Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the concept of a happy workplace and corporate
social responsibility (CSR). The organizations in this study have been focusing on CSR with
the goal of organizational development. They realized that the most valuable resource of an
organization is the human capital. When the staffs are healthy with physical, mental, spiritual
and social well-being, they improved the organization, the community, and the society for
sustainable prosperity. Thus the happy workplace concept is a strategy of health promotion
to address the happiness of employees and the quality of social interactions. The two
organizations shared the same purpose; they were creating a process to build the good
human resources. The results show that the organizations can develop a social environment
and happiness in the workplace at the same time.
