The Development of the Home Isolation Nursing System for COVID-19 Patients in the ARI Clinic, outpatient Department Wang Nuea Hospital

Outbreak of COVID-19 severely affected many the structural system and the service of the hospital systematic management. This research and development aim to 1) Analyze the nursing care situation for COVID-19 Home Isolation patients.2)Develop the Home Isolation nursing system for COVID-19 patients. 3)Study the results of nursing care system development for COVID-19 patients. By developing a home isolation nursing system for COVID-19 patients in the Acute Respiratory Infection clinic at outpatient department Wang Nuea Hospital, Lampang Province. Implemented system development by using the concept of ADDIE model, which consists of including the situation analysis phase (A), design and development phase (DD), trial use (I), evaluation and system improvement (E). The study was conducted during March-May 2022.The research tools were home isolation nursing system for COVID-19 patients in the ARI clinic, outpatient department Wang Nuea Hospital, Lampang Province. The outcome evaluation form is patient data recording form, the opinion form of nurses who use the system, and the Home Isolation form of service satisfaction form for COVID-19 patients, Cronbach coefficient 0.8 alpha and respective=0.82. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage and content analysis.
The study found that the situation of COVID-19 Is an emerging disease with a rapid spread in a wide area, so in order to stop and suppress the spread of the disease. We required cooperation from all sectors especially in nursing, adjusted the home-style nursing care system for COVID-19 patients. Home Isolation system consisted of 3 parts:1) personnel development,2) provision of support,and 3) provision of services, resulting in desirable outcomes. The nursing system for COVID-19 patients was organized in the form of Home Isolation for all patients to access the service. It was found that the patients received services as appropriate at a very high level. Most received services covering 5 issues and most of them were satisfied with the service quality at the highest level. The quality of service delivery, no COVID-19 patients were found,unplanned hospitalization and no cumulative infection of personnel. There is a standardized patient examination. There is a system to prevent the spread of disease to personnel, communities and the environment.
