The purpose of this descriptive research was to study and compare the satisfaction and self-confidence of nursing students between whom practiced on a learning in clinical simulations with Hospital-based during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Ninety-eight, third-year nursing students participated in this study (Hospital-based= 61, Clinical Simulation = 37). The research instruments were 1) the lesson plan of clinical simulation and hospital-based of a 4 - week period, 2) the satisfaction and self-confidence questionnaires of nursing students. The reliability coefficients were 0.86, 0.90 respectively. Data collection took place from Feb. to Apr. 2021. Descriptive statistical tests and independent t-tests were used for data analysis.
The results revealed that the overall mean scores of nursing students’ satisfaction and self-confidence in the Clinical Simulation and Hospital-based were not different (t = -.483, Sig = .630, t = -.733, Sig = .466). When considering the average satisfaction scores of nursing students, they found that the mean scores hospital-based were non-significantly higher than the Clinical Simulation (M= 3.64, SD= 1.004, M= 3.60, SD=.999). When considering the average self-confidence scores of nursing students, they found that the mean scores of Hospital-based were non-significantly higher than Clinical Simulation (M= 3.66, SD= .928, M= 3.61, SD=.925). Suggestions: Clinical Simulation is an effective teaching strategy in developing the satisfaction and self-confidence of nursing students during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
