Case Study: Knowledge, Attitude, and Health and Hygiene practice among students aged 11-20 years old in an International School in Ladkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the knowledge, attitude, and behaviours on health and hygiene practice of 128 students in grade 10-12 from King Mongkut’s International Demonstration School. The data was collected in August 2021. The tools were the questionnaire on knowledge, attitude, and behavior about health and hygiene practice by analyzing the data with descriptive static and generalized linear models. According to the data, the students had low knowledge about health and hygiene practice (M=10.06, SD=2.36) while they had a good attitude about behavior on health and hygiene practice (M=28.15, SD=2.08). For the behavior on health and hygiene practice, the data showed that their behaviors were in medium level (M=35.85, SD=6.19). The results from Pearson’s correlation found that attitude about behavior on health and hygiene practice had a positive relationship with behavior on health and hygiene practice (r=.234, p=0.01)

As stated by the research, there should be more support and advice to make the students have good attitude and behaviors on health and hygiene practice by spreading the information in the format that everyone can reach such as online- sites, information zones at school. With these changes, the students can be more aware about their health and hygiene practice attitude which will affect the behaviors on health and hygiene practice in a good way.
